A-B DF1 Serial to DHPlus/DH485 Bridge

The purpose of this application note is to describe options for integrating Allen-Bradley DHPlus networks with DeltaV.

A proven solution for the integration of older A-B PLCs like PLC5s and SLC is the use of MYNAH's IOD-1123, Allen Bradley DF1 Driver for the DeltaV Serial Card.  Customers who want to link this driver direct to DHPlus or DH485 networked PLCs need to use a bridge, like the A-B KF2 module.  An alternative to the KF2 module is Equustek Solutions, www.equustek.com, DL3500.  We have tested the DL3500 in our labs at MYNAH.  It is a faster, more compact offering that should provide an excellent alternative to the older design KF2 module.   An integration drawing of this solution is shown below.
