ROConnect provides a native DeltaV Function Block integration for Emerson ROC809 Series Controllers.  It has an OPC v2.0 Server for integration with other software applications and an easy-to-use, graphical configuration utility.

Product Overview

DeltaV ROConnect provides a native integration of Emerson Remote Automation Solutions' ROC809 point data into Emerson Process Management's DeltaV Process Automation System function blocks. The product provides a complete integration solution and includes:

• Intuitive ROConnect configuration utility that allows the user to browse ROC809 data and select points or values that will be integrated with DeltaV.
• Auto-generation of DeltaV function block configuration using the ROConnect DeltaV utility FHX file generation capability.
• Scheduling, and storing of ROC Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) files for custody transfer applications. Conversion of EFM data to Coastal Flow and P-Gas files can also be automatically scheduled.
• Time synchronization control of the ROCs with the DeltaV host time clock.
• All data and functions can be read via an OPC v2.0 Server interface.

DeltaV ROConnect allows seamless integration of process plants controlled by the DeltaV Process System with wellhead and pipelines controlled with ROCs. It allows connectivity of Inside Battery Limit (ISBL) Systems with Outside Battery Limit (OSBL) Controllers. Because of this seamless integration with DeltaV, users may want to consider ROCs for applications normally served with PLCs. The application functions through native DeltaV function blocks (no OPC mapping). ROCPlus Network Integration uses third Network Interface Card in the DeltaV ProPlus or App Station. It provides a complete solution for integration of ROC Point, and Electronic Flow Measurement History data.

Native Integration with DeltaV

DeltaV ROConnect 1.2 provides a native integration of ROC809 point data into DeltaV function blocks. The ROConnect Application can be used in systems with or without DeltaV Controllers. The DeltaV and ROC Integration is a “true” integration, meaning it is not an OPC interface, and mapping is not required. The application allows various communications methods: direct network, wireless, and dialup. It also supports HART pass-through for AMS interfaces. The application can read ROC custody transfer field data and generates Coastal Flow and PGAS custody transfer files. Additionally, the ROConnect Application supports all ROC809 point types, data tables, and user defined data types. Data from custom ROC firmware applications (like the Danload 8000) can also be integrated with DeltaV using the ROConnect application.

Integrated OPC DA Server

The integrated OPC DA Server allows all RO800 data to be read or written via OPC Client applications.

Intuitive, Easy-To-Use Configuration

The ROConnect Explorer Configuration Utility makes integration of ROC800 data with DeltaV quick and easy. The utility will sense and scan available data from the ROCLink800 database or from connected ROCs in the field. Entire ROC points can be selected for data integration or individual ROC parameters can be chosen. Each data point can be assigned to a scan thread for data acquisition. ROC EFM report uploads and Coastal Flow and P-Gas conversions can also be scheduled from this utility.

DeltaV ROConnect Description

The ROConnect Application has three functional parts as shown below.  It can be installed on the DeltaV ProPlus or Application Station.  For large integration projects, ROConnect can be licensed and installed on more than one Application Station in the same DeltaV system.

DeltaV ROConnect Architecture and Applications

• ROConnect Communications Suite – ROCPlus Communications Interface uses ROCPlus Protocol, handles poling of individual scan threads, and passes data to DeltaV Function Block Server and the OPC Server. The DeltaV Function Block Server application generates EFM Reports and Coastal Flow and PGAS reports as scheduled or upon demand. It allows the user to control time synchronization of ROCs with the DeltaV System.
• ROConnect Configuration Utility - The DeltaV ROConnect Configuration allows users to configure all DeltaV Modules. It reads ROCLink 800 databases or reads directly to the ROCs via the network. With the configuration utility, users can browse to data of interest and scan threads. Users can export DeltaV function block definitions to .FHX files. Users can also schedule network time synchronization. Configuration files are saved in XML.
• DeltaV App Station Module Templates - DeltaV App Station Module Templates are provided to allow custom modules for integration of ROC data. This provides secure, tight integration with ROC. The templates are supported in DeltaV version 8.3 or greater.

DeltaV ROC Control and Data Acquistion Blocks

• ROC_PARAM_<DATA_TYPE> - used to access a single parameter of a single point
• ROC_<POINT_TYPE> - represent a ROC point. The parameters in this block are limited to only the most frequently used parameters. All current ROC points are supported.
• ROC_<POINT_TYPE> _FULL - represent a ROC point. All parameters in this block are represented. All current ROC points are supported.

DeltaV ROConnect can be added to any DeltaV v8.3 or higher system. The ROConnect software can be loaded on a DeltaV ProPlus or Application Station. Technical support for DeltaV ROConnect is available for 90 days from date of shipment. ROConnect Software Support Renewals can be purchased to extend support for an additional year. A DeltaV ROConnect Function Block License must be purchased from Emerson Process Management based upon the amount of DeltaV function blocks required.
