Instructions for making changes to the MiMiC features

  • This technical note shows the steps required to make changes to the MiMiC features. The following, procedures can be used on a MiMiC System with or without an internet connection as specified.

    If the computer has a known-good Internet connection and is unable to perform an online activation or check in, then there could be security settings preventing access. Please see Windows DEP Settings for MiMiC Online Activations for more information.

    Activating / Adding Features to MiMiC Simulation System Online

    1. Copy the provided site file that was downloaded from your Mynah Account to your installation directory, overwriting the existing file if one exists. (The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\Mynah Technologies\MiMiC.)

    2. Start the Validation Wizard on your MiMiC system. This can be found on the Windows Start menu under: All Programs → MiMiC V3 → Tools.

    3. In Validation Wizard, pick your site file, then click Next.


    4. Verify/Correct your customer information, then click Next.


    5. Select "Online Activation" at the top of the window, then click Next. A Success dialog will be displayed next to every feature that has been activated. If you get anything other than Success please proceed with Offline MiMiC System Activation


    6. The activation codes will be applied immediately to your license to validate it. You will be prompted to restart the MiMiC Service. Click Yes, wait for the restart to complete, then click OK.

    7. Click Finish, then click close.

    8. At this point a restart of the computer is recommended but not necessary. If MiMiC Explorer does not detect the updated license please restart MiMiC Services or Reboot the system.

    Removing a Feature from a MiMiC Simulation System Online

    1. Close all running MiMiC programs.

    2. Open MiMiC’s License Manager. This can be found in the Windows Start menu under: All Programs → MiMiC V3 → Tools.

    3. In License Manager, right click on a feature, and select Check In.


    4. Confirm you want to check in the feature and click Yes.

    5. All MiMiC services must be stopped to proceed.  Click OK to stop services.

    6. A pop-up should notify you that “The serial number was successfully checked in.”, click OK.

    7. Click Yes to restart the MiMiC services.

    Removing All Features from a MiMiC Simulation System Online

    1. Close all running MiMiC programs.

    2. Open MiMiC’s License Manager. This can be found in the Windows Start menu under: All Programs → MiMiC V3 → Tools.

    3. In License Manager, open the License drop down menu, and select Check In All Features. 


    4. Confirm you want to check in All the features and click Yes.

    5. All MiMiC services must be stopped to proceed.  Click OK to stop services.

    6. A pop-up should notify you that “All serial numbers were successfully checked in.”, click OK.

    7. Click Yes to restart the MiMiC services.

    Activating / Adding Features to MiMiC Simulation System Offline

    1. Copy the provided site file that was downloaded from your Mynah Account to your installation directory, overwriting the existing file if one exists. (The default installation directory is C:\Program Files\Mynah Technologies\MiMiC.)

    2. Start the Validation Wizard on your MiMiC system. This can be found on the Windows Start menu under: All Programs → MiMiC V3 → Tools.

    3. In Validation Wizard, pick your site file, then click Next.


    4. Verify/Correct your customer information, then click Next.


    5. Select "Offline Activation" at the top of the window, then click Next. A prompt will appear telling you that your site file does not contain any activation codes. Click OK to close the prompt. The site file now contains the authorization request codes you will need to proceed.


    6. Close the Validation Wizard.

    7. Transfer the updated site file to a computer with Internet access. The default location for the site file is in C:\Program Files\MYNAH Technologies\MiMiC\. or C:\Program Files (x86)\MYNAH Technologies\MiMiC\

    8. Go to http://www.mynah.com/validate

    9. Click on Browse to locate your site file. This will upload the file for validation. On Success, the activation codes will be applied and a link will be provided to download the new file.

    10. Transfer the new site file to the MiMiC system. The default location for the site %\MYNAH Technologies\MiMiC\.

    11. Start the Validation Wizard on your MiMiC system. This can be found on the Windows Start menu under All Programs → MiMiC V3 → Tools.

    12. In Validation Wizard, browse for your site file, then click Next.

    13. Verify/Correct your customer information, then click Next.

    14. Select "Offline Activation" at the top of the window, then click Next.


    15. The activation codes will be applied immediately to your license to validate it. You will be prompted to restart the MiMiC Service. Click Yes, wait for the restart to complete, then click OK.

    16. Click Finish, then click close. At this point a restart of the computer is recommended but not necessary. If MiMiC Explorer does not detect the updated license please restart MiMiC Services or Reboot the system.

    Removing a Feature from a MiMiC Simulation System Offline

    • This is a very complex procedure and we recommend contacting Mynah Support Team for further details. Otherwise please connect your system to the internet to complete the "Removing a Feature from MiMiC Simulation System Online"

    Removing All Features from a MiMiC Simulation System Offline

    1. Close all running MiMiC programs.

    2. Open MiMiC’s License Manager. This can be found in the Windows Start menu under: All Programs → MiMiC V3 → Tools.

    3. In License Manager, open the License drop down menu, and select Deactivate License.


    4. Confirm you want to Deactivate the MiMiC License and click Yes. Only complete the following if you wish to no longer use MiMiC on this system. 

    5. All MiMiC services must be stopped to proceed.  Click OK to stop services.

    6. The following pop-up will provide you with a confirmation code that you will need to provide to Mynah Technologies to complete the deactivation. A text file containing a copy of this confirmation code has been generated in the MiMiC installation folder. Click OK.


    7. Click Yes to restart the MiMiC services.

    8. Located DEACTIVATION_LOG.txt. The default location is: C:\Program Files\Mynah Technologies\MiMiC\

    9. To finish deactivating your license, you must contact Mynah Support by opening a support ticket.

    10. Go to your Mynah MyAccount and create a ticket.

    11. Attach the DEACTIVATION_LOG.txt to the ticket and indicate any intention of activating a MiMiC license on the computer in the future.

    • The MYNAH Support Staff will inform you when the license has been fully deactivated. 

    MiMiC License Recovery using Manual License Check In Request Form

    1. Please print the following form: http://www.mynah.com/files/MiMiC_License_Manual_CheckIn_Request_Form_Rev005_Sept2010.pdf

    2. Complete and Sign the MiMiC License Manual Check In Request Form
       
    3. Once Completed, please open a Support Ticket and attach the Form to the ticket
       
    4. A support representative will submit the form for approval and respond once the form is approved.
       
    5. At this time you can use the Site_xxxx.xml file to complete activation on a new system. This file can be obtainied from your Mynah MyAccount portal.
