The MiMiC DeltaV Simulate OPC SIO Driver provides real-time module parameter simulation for DeltaV Simulate Standalone and Multinode.

The DeltaV Simulate OPC SIO Driver has been optimized to provide excellent performance with DeltaV Simulate Standalone and Multinode using the OPC DA protocol. DeltaV modules fully-qualified paths are allocated in the DeltaV Simulate SIO definition in MiMiC Explorer to SIO Tags. Those SIO Tags are then directly used in MiMiC simulation models.

Simulated IO definitions are generated from the DeltaV module configuration in the DeltaV Export File using the DeltaV FHX Utility in MiMiC.  Changes to the DeltaV module configuration can be updated in MiMiC by doing a partial export of the IO definition and converting that export file is to a XML file for import into MiMiC.

The DeltaV Simulate OPC SIO Driver provides an easy-to-use, high-performance simulation interface to DeltaV. Features of the SIO Driver include:

• Full read/write access to any OPC accessible parameter in DeltaV.
• Automatic initialization into Simulate mode for all simulated input function blocks. Driver also returns the function block to normal mode when MiMiC Node is stopped.
• Fully tested and supported with DeltaV Simulate Standalone, Multinode, and SimulatePro v7.2 and higher.

MiMiC Flexibility Supports All DeltaV Training Systems

The DeltaV Simulate OPC SIO Driver supports operator training systems that are intended for team or individual operator training environments. Connections from the MiMiC station to the DeltaV Simulate stations is over a high-speed Ethernet connection for all systems.

• Team operator training systems use multiple operator workstations in one off-lince control system to allow operators to be trained in a team environment similar to what may be found in the control room. Changes made by one operator, to the simulated control system and process, are seen and experienced by all the operators in the team.

• Individual operator training systems allow multiple operators to be trained concurrently, independently of each other. Each operator has a separated virtual process control system and plant to work on. Changes made by one operator, to the simulated control system and process, are only seen by that operator.
