MiMiC DeltaV Railbus SIO Driver
The MiMiC DeltaV Railbus SIO Driver provides full IO emulation for DeltaV M-Series and S-Series controllers.
Complete IO Simulation for DeltaV Controllers
This Simulated IO (SIO) Driver uses the DeltaV Virtual IO Module for M-Series controllers and DeltaV Ethernet IO Card for S-Series Controllers, to simulate up to 64 DeltaV IO Modules per controller. It supports all current DeltaV IO modules including Foundation Fieldbus, DeviceNet, ProfibusDP, AsiBus, Serial Module, Virtual IO Module Network Gateway, and Classic IO. IO signals from these cards are allocated in the DeltaV Railbus SIO definition in MiMiC Explorer to SIO Tags. Those SIO Tags are then directly used in MiMiC simulation models.
Simulated IO definitions are generated from the DeltaV IO definitions in the DeltaV Export File using the DeltaV FHX Utility in MiMiC. Changes to the DeltaV IO Definitions can be updated in MiMiC by doing a partial export of the IO definition and converting that export file is to a XML file for import into MiMiC.

DeltaV Foundation Fieldbus Simulation
DeltaV Foundation Fieldbus Simulation in MiMiC provides a complete solution for testing control and application software for DeltaV systems that use Foundation Fieldbus.
The DeltaV Railbus SIO Driver emulates the following Fieldbus Foundation Function Block:
- Analog Input (AI)
- Analog Output (AO)
- Discrete Input (DI)
- Discrete Output (DO)
- Multiplexed Analog Input (MAI)
- Multiplexed Discrete Input (MDI)
- Multiplexed Discrete Output (MDO)
- Multi Level Discrete Input/Output
- PID
- Integrator (INT)
- Fieldbus Input Selector (ISEL)
In addition the DeltaV Railbus SIO Driver emulates the following Foundation Fieldbus device functionality:
- Foundation Fieldbus Alarm Messaging
- Foundation Fieldbus Status Control – includes ability to emulate a bad signal
- Foundation Fieldbus Device Commissioning States
To follow are designed limitations of Foundation Fieldbus emulation using MiMiC:
- Support of Fieldbus H1 cards and Fieldbus devices is limited to Function Block emulation
- MiMiC does not provide an accurate representation of segment loading or other H1 segment design issues.
- MiMiC emulates the devices only to the extent that simulated process and status values can be passed back to the controller. All other aspects of Fieldbus may be different when running with real devices.
- Since the emulation of the Fieldbus H1 cards and devices is accomplished via software the need to download device specific information from DeltaV to the MiMiC software emulation is critical and more frequent than real devices would require.
- Not all Fieldbus function blocks are currently supported only those in the list above.
- New Foundation Fieldbus devices (not in the current release DeltaV Explorer) need to be added to the MiMiC capabilities file by MYNAH Technologies. Please contact support@mynah.com for support of devices that are not currently in MiMiC

Ordering Information
The DeltaV Railbus SIO Driver can be purchased with a MiMiC base system license or added to any MiMiC system current on MiMiC Software Support. One Virtual IO Module is needed for each controller for DeltaV IO Simulation.
