MiMiC v3.3 Makes Development of Dynamic Simulations Easier, Quicker
ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, USA (May 24, 2010) MYNAH Technologies announces the release of its MiMiC Simulation Software v3.3 for operator training and automation system testing.
MiMiC Advanced Modeling Objects, released in MiMiC v3.3, are a set of rigorous first-principles, dynamic models of process plant unit operations designed for high-performance simulations for operator training or automation system testing. The MiMiC Advanced Modeling Objects License provides:
- Medium-High to High Fidelity Simulation Performance
- Rigorous First Principles unit operation modeling using proven dynamic, real-time modeling methods
- Easy handling of individual stream component physical properties using MiMiC Component Sets
- Block to block communications of all parameters with one connection using MiMiC Streams
- MiMiC OTM Process Snapshot support
- MiMiC OPC Server Access to all model parameters
MiMiC Advanced Modeling Objects are IEC1131 blocks, configured in MiMiC Simulation Studio. Both off-line model building and on-line model viewing are supported.
In addition, new modeling functions in MiMiC allow more flexibility and power for development of dynamic process models in the base level MiMiC IEC1131 modeling functions. These blocks include Arrays, Pump, Compressor, Dynamic Heat Exchanger, and PID blocks.
MiMiC Test Bench provides automated testing and reporting of control system configurations using MiMiC Simulation Software. This new option in MiMiC v3.3 allows users to create scripts that set, examine, and verify values in both their MiMiC simulation and off-line control system that has an OPC Server. These test scripts can be executed from the Windows Test Bench user interface, via a command-line, or by the MS Windows operating system as a scheduled task. Test log reports can be saved for each script providing a permanent record of the system test.
The new DeltaV CIOC / Virtual CIOC Simulated IO Driver (SIO) is available for DeltaV v11 users, with direct IO simulation of DeltaV IO-On-Demand (Charms IO). The DeltaV Railbus SIO Driver has also been enhanced to support DeltaV v11 S-Series IO simulation using the DeltaV Ethernet IO Card. Both of these enhancements are included in the MiMiC v3.3 release.
The MiMiC Ethernet/IP SIO Driver provides real-time IO signal simulation for Rockwell PLCs that support the Ethernet/IP protocol. In MiMiC v3.3, this SIO driver now supports Logix Global Tags. In addition, the new Logix TagBrowser utility allows the user to export a Logix5000 file (LK5 format) and generate MiMiC SIO Tags and Base Models of the Logix Global Tags as the user automatically. Building dynamic simulations for operator training or control system testing has never been easier for the Rockwell ControlLogix user.
MiMiC now supports the Windows 7 operating system in the v3.3 release. MiMiC is a .Net application, built and optimized for the latest Microsoft operating systems.
MiMiC v3.3 has been released for any new system purchases. MiMiC users who are current on MiMiC Software Support can upgrade to MiMiC v3.3 for no additional charge and purchase any of the options listed above.
MiMiC Simulation Software is a dynamic process and I/O simulation solution designed for automation system testing and operator training. MiMiC is scalable from small to large projects, offering solutions for any process industry user. Unlike other simulation offerings, MiMiC is designed to be implemented by the end-user so that developing, modifying, and maintaining dynamic simulation is easy and cost-effective. MiMiC works with many off-line process control systems, including Emerson Process Management DeltaV, Schneider Electric Unity and Quantum platforms, Previse ABB Simulator, Rockwell PLC’s and other automation systems that support the OPC or Open Modbus TCP/IP protocols. By testing their automation system and training operators with MiMiC, process companies worldwide have increased product quality while reducing time to market, cost, and risk. MiMiC is a proven tool for both Capital Project Excellence (CapEx) and Operational Excellence (OpEx) initiatives.
