By
Product: IOD-4102 - Ethernet/IP Scanner Driver (Rockwell PLC Interface - Logix, PLC5, SLC505)

These release notes are for changes made to the Ethernet/IP VIM firmware for v3.4.1.

Product Description

These release notes are for changes made to the Ethernet/IP VIM firmware for v3.4.1. The previous general released firmware version is v3.3.64. The flash procedure is documented in the product manual.

Who should upgrade?

This firmware release is MANDATORY for all Ethernet/IP VIM users at or prior to firmware v3.3.64.

The following defects were corrected:

  1. After VIM reboot, dataset register value initialization write requests from the DeltaV Controller were discarded until the VIM was fully online. Unless the DeltaV Controller continued to send writes to the VIM, the datasets remained at their original static values. This defect has been corrected.
  2. When deploying VIM’s in redundant mode and using Dual ENBT card redundancy, a defect was found when the configuration contained a single Output only dataset. Such a configuration had a low level conflict between dataset output messages generated by DeltaV Controller writes, and Ping messages generated by the VIM. This conflict caused all output messages to stop working. This defect has been corrected.

The following enhancements were implemented:

The firmware has been updated to be used in DeltaV 11.3 or earlier systems. VimNet Explorer v9.1.2.23 or later must be used when configuring for DeltaV 11.3.
